Kazuma isn't a member of the zodiac, but his grandfather was the previous cat (don't ask me how that works, because I really have no idea), so he feels for Kyo, and sees him as a son. Oh, and he is so NOT creepy!

I know how it works I KNOW!!!!! Ok it works like this Kazumas grand father was the year of the cat people go on and so since Kazumas grand father had died kyo was the next one up since he was born.The parents of the kids in the zodiac are never cursed so if some one in the zodiac dies the kid thts born in the family is the next one up.If all the ppl in the zodiac are still alive then tht means any child born in the family will not be cursed.Hope you got wat im gitten at phew!
