i agree with orochimaru-sama! and why did itachi have to join akatsuki!? he could have disobeyed the hokage and fled the village and returned a few yeasr later to help!

wtf dont you know what was goin on at that point?! See the Uchiha clan was gettin mad cuz konoha considered them dangerous(wich they were violent) so they told itachi to kill em!Itachi knew if he didn't do it than they would brake out in a war over power and not only would uchiha's die in the war others would too that's why itachi killed them, to prevent more than just them from dyin' but tere were 2 uchiha he didnt kill, madara cuz he helped him kill everyone and sasuke cuz he could'nt bear to kill his bro
