Pros:
- Great Graphics
- Cool Slow Motion Crashes
- Detailed Tracks
Cons:
- Only 8 Tracks
- Headhunter AI
- Left Out Most Racing Elements
The long awaited PS3 game, MotorStorm is finally released. Will this game change the way how people look at the PS3 or will it be another reason not to buy a PS3?
Graphics-5/5: The graphics are very impressive. They take advantage of PS3's graphic engine. The tracks are detailed, the enviroments are nice, and cool damageing models. This shows the full potential of the PS3's graphic engine.
Gameplay-2/5: Although the slow motion crashes and rag doll physics are nice and all, MotorStorm left out most of common racing elements like time trial and vehicle tuning. Also, MotorStorm only has 8 tracks. You might be thinking, "Well, MotorStorm might have more tracks in career mode," you are wrong. MotorStorm has no career mode. Another thing, this game forces you to drive a specific type of vehicle-motorcycles, ATV's, dune buggies, rally cars, racing trucks, mudders or semis.
A.I.-3/5: Although this game can be fun after a few runs, you'll realize that the opponent A.I. is dialed way too high. You might think this is good and gives you a challenge, no, this leads to gaming fustration. Opponents are too aggresive resulting in hitting you off a cliff, smacking you off your vehicle, running into another opponent, or smashing you into a wall. Winning most racing will take sheer luck instead of skill.
Sounds-4/5: The sounds of crashes are good when you run into something. But what makes the sounds good is the sound track, including Hyper, Slipknot, and Wolfmother.
Replay Value-Moderately Low: Although this is a next-gen game, this game can get boring after a number of runs.
Overall-3/5(Single Player Only), 4/5(Multiplayer)-Although this title has good graphics, this titile could have delivered more than the developers thought, although multiplayer can make you keep playing over and over. It's best to rent this game to show to your friends but after that, you should return it and hope that you can pray for the PS3 to survive.
