i'ma share with you because your my awseome friend , trace your edited character in a diffrent layer then hold down the ctrl button while you use the maic wand, witht he majic wand you click the backroun space around the outline NOT inside the outline the switch down to the orig layer, use the black arrow icon to drag the background ot of the picture, delete the layer witht he traced outline make a new layer switch the layer so that it's under the orig picture which should now have a transparent back

lol i know sorry at suck at giving directions but then you just pic a picture off the web and place it one the black layer then you flatten them together erm I'll try to make a picture showing how to do it
