He will, actually... At the very end, when he finds out that Gato was never going to pay him, Zabuza says that he has no reason for fighting them anymore, and he and Kakashi fight together against Gato... well, sort of. I think that if he lived, he and Kakashi would probably respect each other, even if they wouldn't be friends or anything. Aah, that would make a great ending... *sigh*
