Wouldn't those be kunai instead of shuriken? Kunai are knives, shuriken are discs of metal. That's the way I've always known it.

Actually those are indeed shuriken, for the shuriken,wich in japanease means "small metalic object hidden in a hand" can be divided in two types: Hiro-shuriken, with multiple points (generally going from 3 to 5/6 even if there can be more); and Bo-shuriken wich resemble throwing knives, for they are two pointed or one pointed shafts of metal of various sizes,and can have a handle much like a knife.The blades in the pictures are effectively shuriken. Finally I'll say that shuriken are not a dead...

The Bo-shuriken look diffrent from Kunai though..Thoes i believe are kunai. But you do hold you point wel..And no one can prove if it really is either.

those are indeed Bo-shuriken, do you see how far the blade reaches, kunai have a shorter blade, & nice pic
