hey candycoatedbi0tch I think that in japanese they have the same letter for both r and l but varys depending on context its used but adv translated his name directly as arucard but alucard is obviously his name(it just makes more sense than arucard when he says "my names a bit of a enigma too" when he first meets incognito (this confused the shit out me until I read the manga and realised that his name was Alucard)

yeah i was gonna say that alucard is in english while arucard is japanese, and explain it all, but apparently i dont need to anyways, i think he does have a soft side, he just keeps it totally locked up in a little metal box in his head, protected by all these impenetrable charms. The charms show up in his face and body language *hinthint*
