I belive misato loved her father (DR Katsuragi) but also felt great anger, and resentment for him aswell. He spent so much of his time at work ,that his famly (wife & daughter) felt abandonmemt, unloved and unwanted. Dr Katsuragi later died saving his daughter life, and she found out that he did love her. After that tragely Misato felt guilty for the bad feelling and though that she had against her father and regret they didn't settle thing between them. I belive Misato need to forgive her father & herself.
